據管道&天然氣雜志網6月27日報道，希臘能源監(jiān)管機構周一表示，希臘一直在與意大利談判，以確定是否可以在鄰國意大利儲存天然氣，以便在大國天然氣供應中斷的情況下確保供應。

歐盟國家和議員們上個月就一項法律達成協議，在冬季到來之前加滿天然氣儲備，這是他們建立供應緩沖的努力的一部分。

希臘沒有天然氣儲存設施，需要在其他國家儲存足夠的天然氣，以滿足其年度使用量的15%。去年，希臘的年度使用量約為70億立方米。

希臘能源監(jiān)管機構負責人Athanasios Dagoumas告訴記者，我們一直在研究可以儲存的量，以及什么樣的技術可以使用。

Dagoumas稱，雅典方面將敲定提案，然后將其提交給歐盟委員會。

希臘已表示，如果大國削減供應，將加大液化天然氣（LNG）的采購，使用備用的燃煤發(fā)電能力，并將四家燃氣發(fā)電廠改為柴油發(fā)電廠。

希臘目前在雅典附近有一個設施，可以儲存22.5萬立方米的液化天然氣并進行再氣化。

天然氣運營商DESFA一位官員告訴路透社稱，該公司將租賃一個浮動存儲設施，預計下個月將固定在液化天然氣設施附近，將其存儲容量增加13萬立方米。

根據政府提交議會的一項法案，DESFA將租賃該設施長達12個月，并可選擇將其延長6個月。

Greece Looking to Secure Deal with Italy for Gas Storage

Greece has been in talks with Italy to see whether it can store gas in the neighboring country as part of efforts to secure supplies if the big producer flows are disrupted, Greece's energy regulator said on Monday.

European Union countries and lawmakers last month clinched a deal on a law to fill gas stores ahead of winter as part of their efforts to build a supply buffer.

Greece has no gas storage facilities and it would need to store enough gas in other states to cover 15% of its annual use, which came in at about 7 billion cubic meters last year.

"We have been examining what quantity can be stored and what can be useable technically," the head of Greece's energy regulator Athanasios Dagoumas told reporters.

Athens was close to finalizing its proposal before presenting it to the European Commission, Dagoumas said.

Greece has said it will ramp up purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG), use spare coal-fired generation capacity and switch four gas-fired power plants to diesel in case the big producer cuts supplies.

Greece has currently one facility off Athens which can store 225,000 cubic meters of LNG and regasify it.

Its gas operator DESFA will lease a floating storage unit which is expected to anchor close to the LNG facility next month to boost its storage capacity by 130,000 cubic meters, a DESFA official told Reuters.

Under a bill submitted to parliament by the government, DESFA will lease the unit for up to 12 months with an option to extend it by six months.
